(Siasat News) A felicitation function was held at Press Club, Basheerbagh yesterday to felicitate Telangana activists. Prof. Gautam Pingle, former Professor of Administrative Staff College of India (S/o Justice Jagan Mohan Reddy). Prof. Fatima Shehnaz Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali, MLC participated in the conference as guest of honor.
Prof. Gautam in his Presidential address told that all the people irrespective of caste and religion participated in Telangana struggle peacefully. Govt. of India was forced to bow down before their pressure. He pointed out that the MP of Hyderabad presented many important amendments in Telangana bill but nobody took cognizance of it. He told that felicitating the Telangana activists is a welcome gesture. Prof. Fatima Shehnaz (Daugther of Nawab Mir Moazam Husain) told that the Minorities will get justice only by development and peace. In this way the dream of Telangana would be fulfill. Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali told that the promises made for Minorities would be fulfill. The veteran intellectual, Prof. Keshav Rao Jadav told that Telangana Movement remained always peaceful in which many organizations participated but after the declaration of Telangana many organizations started taking its credit and they start advertising it which is not correct. He hoped that the new Govt. of Telangana will do justice to Minorities.
Maulana Hamed Mohammed Khan told that Telangana state will come into existence on 2nd June and the people of Telangana will reap the fruits of 60 year struggle. Prof. Ramesh Reddy, former Dean, Faculty of Engineering of Osmania University told that the regrettable aspect of the Telangana movement was that the Congress CM put hurdles in the movement at every stage and deviated from the decisions taken by the Congress high command. He demanded the next Govt. to develop the region at mandal and district level. Prof Vemala demanded the Govt. to establish women’s university in Old city to facilitate girls to get education. Mr. Govardhan Reddy, Advocate told that after the formation of Telangana justice should be done to all the sections of the society including S.Cs, S.Ts, B.Cs, Christians and the Muslims. Mr. D.P. Reddy, Engineer and President of Telagana Development Forum told that during Telangana agitation more than 1000 youths have sacrificed their lives for the cause of Telangana. All these details have been published in a brochure. Dr. Shankar former President of B.Cs cell of APCC told that the students of Seema Andhra are getting nativity certificates from Hyderabad and taking admission in our colleges which is causing a loss of seats to our Telangana students. Mr. Anuradha Reddy, Architect submitted various proposals. Mr. Aliuddin Quadri, convener of Telangana Elder’s Forum told that 7th February 2010 is an important date in the history of Telangana since thousands of Muslims participated in the public meeting oragnised by Movement for Peace and Justice at Nizam College. Ms. Anuradha Reddy proposed vote of thanks. Mr. Baskhar Beni and Mr. Ataullah welcomed the guests. On this occasion, 10 Telangana activists including Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Managing Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily were felicitated.
