Dream of cashless society faces several challenges

Hyderabad: The drive to make the society a cashless one is facing several challenges. Percentage of internet users in rural areas is just 13while those in urban areas is 58. Out of the 125 Cr population of India 34.2 Cr people uses internet which means 73 out of 100 people do not have internet facility. Basic facilities need to be provided at first place to make the society cash free.

To fully benefit from banking services one has to possess smart phone, however only 17 pc people possess smart phones. To say good buy to cash transactions, broadband internet facility is equally needed besides smart phone. However while 102 Cr people use smart phones only 15 pc have broadband internet facility furthermore its charges are more compared to other countries.
