Drawing of lots for selection of Hajj aspirants of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for Hajj 2016 is likely to be held on March 20. As per the schedule issued by Central Hajj Committee for various states, draw for Andhra and Telangana is scheduled on March 20.
Special Officer Telangana Hajj Committee Prof. S A Shukoor told that if the final date is declared as March 20, draw for the twin states will be held in Hyderabad. Before that Central Hajj Committee will announce Hajj quota for all the states. Saudi and Indian authorities will speak on the issue of Hajj quota allotment for India on March 10, following which Hajj quota will be allotted to all the states proportionate to their Muslim population as per 2011 census.
