The Qurrah (Draw of lots) for selection of Haj pilgrims from the General category for Haj 2017 from Telangana State is postponed In view of Election Code of Conduct, informed State Haj Committee Special Officer Prof. S. A. Shukoor on Thursday.
The Qurra was scheduled to be held on March 18 at Haj House in Nampally for selection of 330 Haj pilgrims from out of 17,564 Haj Applicants in General Category, he said. The Telangana State Haj Committee received a total of 20,601 Haj Applications including 743 applications under Reserve Category ‘A’ (70 + years) and 2294 Haj applications under Reserved category ‘B’ fourth timers totaling 3037 Haj Applicants under both the Reserve Categories, who are declared selected without Qurrah, he said.
