Drake was almost a part of Nicki Minaj’s ‘Queen’

Washington: Rapper Nicki Minaj has been riding high on the success of her new album, ‘Queen’. The rapper, who collaborated with various artists in her album, also planned a collaboration with Drake.

According to the Billboard Magazine, Minaj planned for a collaboration with Drake, but things couldn’t work out.

“Drake and I were working on something, but I didn’t want to change the date of the album. So about two days before I had to turn it in, he and I had been going back and forth. And then even up until, I would say, within 12 hours of having to turn in my album, we were going back and forth,” Billboard quoted Minaj as saying.

The ‘Queen’ hit-maker further said that Drake’s upcoming album ‘Aubrey’ and the three Migos Tour have also been keeping him busy.

“He had come to my studio; we found something that we really, really loved. But he was also going through that process of getting stuff right for his tour, and I had to understand that. As an artist, I always try to put myself in the artist’s shoes, and not try to be selfish,” she added.

The rapper collaborated with famous artists including Ariana Grande, Eminem, The Weeknd, Lil Wayne, Future, Swae Lee, Labrinth, and Foxy Brown for her album.

The album was released on August 10 and has received immense praise from the listeners.
