Prof. N.Siva Prasad has been appointed as Director, GITAM University, Hyderabad Campus and took charge on Wednesday. The predecessor Prof. Ch.Sanjay has been appointed as Principal, GITAM School of Technology. Dr. M.Potharaju, Registrar has called on to the Director and greeted him on his new appointment. He has heart fully welcomed the 37 years experienced IIT Madras Professor to the GITAM family. Dr. R.Siva Kumar, Pro VC (R&D), Prof. Ch.Sanjay, Prof. S.S.Prasada Rao, Dean& Director, HBS, DVVSR Varma, Resident Director, all department heads and faculty met the new Director and expressed their happiness on his new appointment.
Prof. Siva Prasad studied BE (Mechanical Engineering) at the University of Mysore and obtained Master’s Degree in Machine Dynamics and Tribology from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Madras. Dr. Siva Prasad got his Ph.D. degree from IIT Madras.
Prof. Siva Prasad has to his credit about 100 research publications in various journals and conferences. Under his able guidance 8 scholars have completed Ph.Ds and 4 more are in progress. 22 students have completed their MS program and 4 are pursuing. 52 students have completed their M.Tech program under his guidance. He has completed 52 consultancy works helping various industries. He is currently involved in developing underwater vehicle for deep sea mining.
Dr. Siva Prasad has a strong commitment for academics. He wishes to strengthen the practical exposure to all UG and PG students making them prepared for taking up the job as soon as they complete graduate program. (NSS)
