Former Minister Dr P Shankar Rao has condemned the reported statement of Telangana Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy that the statues of Andhras on the Tank Bund in the city would be demolished.
Dr Rao said that the statues belonged to Telugu stalwarts and not of Andhras, as said by the Minister. It was not proper to say that the statues of Andhras would be demolished. He regretted that some of the leaders in power were making statements which create enmity between the people.
He said that the great person NTR had got the statues erected to honour the legendary Telugu personalities, who excelled in different fields. (NSS)
