Dr. Ram Pershad passed away

Hyderabad: Noted Physician of Hyderabad, Dr. Ram Pershad passed away at 4:30 p.m. yesterday. He was ailing for quite some time. He was the representative of Ganga-Jamuna Civilization of Hyderabad. He was the son of Rai Janaki Pershad. He treated many patients during 56 years of his medical practice. He was a lover of Urdu language. He was a regular reader of Siasat Urdu Daily. He used to start his daily routine by reading Siasat. He was a writer of Urdu. He was associated with Fine Arts Academy, Zindadilana-e-Hyderabad and other associations. He also used to patronize writers and artists. He is survived by widow, two sons and two daughters. His son, Dr. Ravi Kumar is also a famous Physician of Hyderabad.

His funeral procession will start at 10 a.m. today. His body would be kept at his clinic located at Rai Janaki Pershad road, Mallepally. His last rites would be performed at Whisper Valley, Jubilee Hills in the evening today.

Noted humour writer of Urdu, Padmashri Mujtaba Husain expressed his grief on the sad demise of Dr. Ram Pershad and said that his demise is an irreparable loss to the literary and cultural associations of the city.
