Dr. Manjula Chellure will take the oath of office as the next Chief Justice of AP High Court. At present , she is functioning as Chief Justice of Kerala High Court. The post of Chief Justice fell vacant after the elevation of Mr. Justice PC Ghosh as the judge of the Supreme Court. Mr. Justice N.V. Ramana senior most judge was appointed as the acting Chief Justice of AP High Court.
Dr. Manjula was born on 5th December 1955 in Bellary, Karnataka. She passed BA from Bellary college and obtained LLB degree from Bangalore in 1977. She was the first woman advocate of Bellary. She has worked for various banks and other institutions as their legal advisor. She was made District Sessions Judge in 1988. she also served as Principal Judge in Bangalore. She was the first Judge of Karnataka High Court. She was made acting Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court. Later she was elevated as its Chief Justice.
