(Siasat News) Dr. Mohammed Junaid Zakir, Assistant Professor of the Department of Translation of Urdu University was elected President of Maulana Azad National Urdu University Teachers’ Association for the second time.
He was elected president last year also. He has an excellent record of making bold and frank representations to University authorities on various issues relating to the teachers. On his representation, University authorities issued a corrigendum making knowledge of Urdu compulsory for the teaching posts advertised by the University.
He is a very popular and bold leader of the teachers. He is a staunch supporter of Urdu medium of instruction in the University. He has many plans for the academic excellence and intellectual development of the Urdu University teachers. He has promised that he would work for raising the quality of teaching and research in Urdu University.
He thanked all the voters who have instilled confidence in him. He told that he would try his best to measure upto their expectations.
He also thanked the University authorities for conducting the elections in a systematic and peaceful manner.
The investiture ceremony of the newly elected Teachers’ Association of Urdu University will be held on Tuesday, 4th September 2012.
