Dr. JP takes a dig at Babu & Rosaiah

Hyderabad, November 15:Lok Satta Party President Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan today thanked TDP President N. Chandrababu Naidu for being an unpaid PRO of the Lok Satta Party because he spoke more about the Lok Satta than about his own party during the GHMC election campaign.

Instead of seeking votes by presenting his party’s agenda to voters, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu is trying to dissuade them from voting for the Lok Satta Party.

Mr. Chandrababu Naidu is providing an excellent opportunity to the Lok Satta Party to explain its policies to the public, said Dr. JP.
Addressing a meeting in Somajiguda, Dr. JP pointed out that voters would lose if they abstained from voting out of revulsion for politics and politicians.

Only when they elected the right candidates, their problems ranging from mosquito menace to overflowing drains would be addressed. They should not give room to candidates to win the elections by distributing money and liquor since such winners would be interested only in enriching themselves and not serving the public.

Commenting on Chief Minister K. Rosaiah’s rhetorical question whether whistle-blowing would solve people’s problems, Dr. JP said his party was waking up people with whistle (its election symbol) and urging them to save the city from land grabbers, goondas and brokers.

It is awakening people to the Chief Minister’s complacent attitude towards mosquitoes and stray dogs which are playing havoc with their lives. It is educating people to realize that traditional party politicians have been siphoning their tax money not merely to sit in AC rooms and fly in the air but also to line their pockets.

For instance most of the problems in Somajiguda could be solved if Rs.5 crore is allotted at the rate of Rs.1000 per person per year to a people-elected committee. But even after an expenditure of Rs.50 crore a year in the ward going by the budget, most of the problems now remain unresolved. By blowing the whistle, the Lok Satta is educating voters on how they are being taken for a ride, Dr. JP added. (NSS)
