Dr. Syed Mohammed Ilyas Rizvi, IFS has been appointed as Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Development). Dr. P. K. Mohanthy, IAS, Chief Secretary issued orders yesterday for his appointment. It may be noted that Dr. Rizvi was suspended by the Govt. some time back by was reinstated recently.
When scholarship scam came to lime light in A.P. State Minorities Finance Corporation, Dr. Rizvi was suspended. At that time he was holding the post of Managing Director of the Cooperation. Govt. had entrusted the case to CB CID which is still investigating the case. A scam of Rs. 78 crore was unearthed but only Rs. 18 crore could be recovered.
