Bhubaneswar: Khurda police station of Odisha served notices to the in-laws and husband of a woman after receiving a complaint of alleged dowry harassment.
It is reported that the in-laws of Neerja Nalini, the daughter-in-law of a city-based doctor couple had installed a CCTV camera in her bedroom and captured her intimate scenes. She alleged that her in-laws threatened her to upload these scenes on social media if she does not bring a dowry of Rs. 35 lakh from her parents.
She also alleged that she faced physical and mental torture from her in-laws for dowry demands after three weeks of her marriage. Vexed up with the atrocities of her in-laws, she left the in-laws’ house and came back to her parents’ house.
