Alleged harassment by husband and in-laws for more dowry drove a 34-year-old private teacher to suicide.
According to Kalapathar police, the deceased, Shabana Begum, 34, took the extreme step on Tuesday at her residence in Ramanasthpura. She was admitted to the Osmania General Hospital where she died a few hours after admission. She was married to Feroz Khan about 10 years ago. However, Feroz and his relatives were allegedly harassing Shabana for more dowry for the past few week weeks. Unable to bear the physical and mental torture, she resorted to the extreme step.
The Kalapather police have registered a case of dowry harassment and abetment for suicide against her husband and his relatives and began investigations. (INN)
