Hyderabad, September 01 (Siasat News): In a heartrending incident 12 months old bride hanged herself to death as she was being harassed for not fulfilling to the dowry demands. The incident took place in Nacharam area.
It has been told that Geeta Rani 19, who was dejected by the alleged harassment by her in-laws especially her mother in law and husband, hanged herself to death in her house. According to sources Geeta Rani got married to Kishore Reddy resident of HMT colony a year ago. At that time Geeta Rani’s father promised to give 200sqyd plot but he could not fulfill his promise due to which Geeta had been harassed by her in-laws.
Sources said that Geeta was physically and mentally assaulted by her in-laws. Not bearing that Geeta Rani resorted to this extreme step and committed suicide. A case has been registered under section 304 (B) by Nacharam police and investigations are on.
