In a gruesome incident occurred under Alwal police station limits, a 28-year-old woman was set ablaze by her husband after she failed to bring more dowry. The victim Gunti Rama alias Pushpa married to Rajaiah 11 years ago. The couple has two children.
Pushpa had been harassed by her husband for additional dowry. On January 15 the husband in drunken state had a row with his wife and later poured kerosene over her body and set her ablaze. Pushpa was rushed to the hospital where she succumbed to injuries on Saturday.
