Downpour brings temperature down by 10 degrees in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: An unprecedented downpour brought down the temperature of Hyderabad by 10 degrees Celsius on Monday. The temperature had dropped down to 26.2 degrees from 36.4 degrees during the afternoon after the heavy rain.

Areas such as Bollarum, Trimulgherry, Qutbullapur, Tarnaka, Rezimental Bazaar, Balamrai, Tukaram Gate were most affected and the city is expected to receive more rains on Tuesday, a report by Times of India said quoting the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad.

A cyclonic circulation over the south-east Bay of Bengal and a trough from north interior Karnataka led to rains in Hyderabad, said the IMD.

“The rains have brought a relief from the heat, which was increasing with every passing day,” said Kavya M, who seemed enjoying the weather at Hussainsagar. While some areas received heavy rains on Monday, areas such as Madhapur, Asifnagar, Golkonda and Balanagar hardly received any.
