Downfall in Swineflu cases: NIMS Director

Spread of Swineflu cases have come down in the state, according to NIMS Director, Dr Narendranath.
Addressing a press conference at Secretariat here he said that the hospitals are equipped well to tackle the cases. On Swineflu deaths he said that as on Wednesday 26 persons died. There was a shortfall in the calls at free number of 104, he said and asked the people to wash their hands often and live in clean environs to keep at bay the virus. Health Minister C Lakshma Reddy expressed content on the steps being taken against swineflu during a review meeting he said.
Narendranath also said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has announced a continuous war against the virus spread and hospitals and the staff are involved in providing better services. Machines to confirm the virus are being supplied by the Centre he said adding that Fever Hospital in Nallakunta has the machine to test the virus. While 10 per cent persons affected with swineflu died in 2009, the death toll is only 3.64 percent out of those affected from Jan 1 to 27 this year, he maintained. He said that 22 cases out of 107 tested positive today while the figure was put at 53 out of 141 tested yesterday. (NSS)
