Down trodden communities need to come together on a common platform: Zaheeruddin Ali Khan

Addressing a public meeting held by Civil Liberties Committee on Human Rights Day, Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan recalled that more than 5 lakh Muslims were massacred during police action and today also 14 lakh para-military forces have been deployed in Kashmir who instead of protecting them are toying with the lives of Kashmiri people. Stating the miserable condition of Kashmiri women Mr. Khan said that the Kashmiri women are living under fear and terror. The Muslims and Hindus of this country have been divided into factions, sects, cults etc. now the time has come to retrospect. He stressed the need for a strong strategy to foil the efforts of parties, who have exploited the sentiments of people in proposed Telangana state, to regain power.

Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan also stressed the need for all downtrodden communities to come together on a common platform through which all the departments of human rights in Telangana state could be galvanized into action.

Addressing the meeting V Ramna president CLCAP maintained that despite enactment of several human rights acts, deaths in custody continue unabated.

Prof. Surya Palli Sujata urged to cease the killing of Muslims in the name of terrorists and tribal and dalits in the name of naxalites.
