Hyderabad, July 25: The State government on Saturday gave a major jolt to the Parkwood School International management. The School Education Department slapped showcause notices on the school asking why the No Objection Certificate issued to it should not be withdrawn and simultaneously, recommended to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) authorities to cancel its affiliation to the board.
School Education Secretary D Sambasiva Rao shot off a letter to the CBSE officials asking them to initiate action against the school management as per the norms. He also directed the Commissioner of the School Education Department to serve notices on the school management.
Once the NoC is withdrawn, the CBSE will automatically cancel the affiliation.
“Apart from cooperating with the police in the ongoing criminal action against PSI’s suspended director Ayub and others, we will continue to take a parallel course of action against the school management for their failure in ensuring safety of students,” Sambasiva Rao told TNSE.
To a question on the future of the school students, he replied that it was too early to transfer them to other schools affiliated to the CBSE but assured assistance to parents in case they wanted to shift their children to other schools.
