Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has announced to fix quota for Muslims in double bed room housing scheme for poor and weaker sections. Chief Minister said that Muslims are very backward; their backwardness in various fields is not unknown, hence government will allot some quota for minorities especially Muslims in double bed room housing scheme. The percentage will be finalised in a meeting to be held with MLAs of the city.
CM informed that 650 acre land has been identified at various places of the city for construction of houses. Not a single paise will be collected from the public; all the expenditure will be borne by the government. He admitted delay in implementation of Telangana housing scheme and said that the government will not disappoint people, and every deserving person of the state will get double bed room house.
KCR assured that no political intervention will be entertained in allotment of houses to the beneficiaries nor there will be any special quota for members of assembly or parliament. He said action will be taken against officials if found guilty of irregularities in selection of beneficiaries.
