Don’t usually take up anchoring jobs: Rasika Dugal

New Delhi : Actress Rasika Dugal likes life to be at a certain pace, and so she does not feel anchoring is her cup of tea. However, she made an exception to host TV show “Devlok with Devdutt Pattanaik” as the concept and subject was interesting.

“It’s a very different TV project in the non-fiction space and on Indian mythology, and it’s a totally new experience for me as I had never done anything like this before,” Rasika told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

“Usually when any anchoring job comes up, I never go because I feel it’s not my space… My pace is very different, and the pace you require to be an anchor is something I don’t have. But since this is a different kind of show, I did it,” added the actress, who was lauded for her work in the movie “Qissa”.

Besides taking up something new, another draw to the Epic channel show for Rasika was working with author and mythologist Devdutt Pattanaik.

“Devdutt Pattanaik is a very interesting person and we have read his books, so I thought it would be fun,” she said.

Is Rasika a voracious reader?

“I wish I would read as much as I would read in my college days. But you know how life in Mumbai is… You just get so involved in this trying to survive that you don’t get to read and watch as much as one would have liked. I don’t even do half of what I’d usually like to,” she said, adding that as a student in Film and Television Institute of India, she used to read a lot.

In “Devlok with Devdutt Pattanaik”, Rasika will be seen talking about epics Ramayana and Mahabharata.
