Kakinada: Telugu Desam Party MP Pandula Raveendra Babu today appealed to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and other leaders in that State not to “instigate” the people in the name of caste or region and refrain from creating any controversy over judicial system.
Addressing the media at his camp office here, he said judicial system and judicial appointments were governed by Constitutional norms and it is the duty of every citizen to respect the statue book.
The Amalapuram MP said the Telangana Chief Minister other leaders from his State should not “instigate” the people in the name of caste or region and avoid creating any controversy over judicial system for narrow political gains.
There should be no politicisation of judiciary, the lawmaker said.
The TDP leader condemned what he called “vilification” campaign launched against Andhra Pradesh Judges by Telangana leaders.
He said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is sincerely trying to establish a separate High Court for AP under the Reorganisation Act. Already a suitable site was identified in Amaravati, the new capital, for the HC.
Babu’s remarks came in the wake of ongoing row over provisional allocation of judicial officers between AP and Telangana and High Court bifurcation.
