Donald Trump receives Saudi’s highest civilian honor

RIYADH: US President Donald Trump received the kingdom’s highest civilian honour from Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Saturday.

The king placed the Collar of Abdulaziz Al Saud around Trump’s neck at a ceremony at the Royal Court in Riyadh,  Associated Press reported.

The King explained that the US president was being honoured for “his quest to enhance security and stability in the region and around the world.”

The gold King Abdulaziz medal was previously bestowed upon Russian President Vladimir Putin, British PM Theresa May and Trump’s predecessor, Barack Obama.

The US President, first lady Melania Trump and top White House aides began a trip to Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh and  won a warm reception.
