Washington: Republican presidential nominee and the New York billionaire Donald Trump further stepped up his recent attacks on Democratic rival Hillary Clinton on Wednesday, calling her a “bigot” during a rally in Jackson, Mississippi.
He said. “Hillary Clinton is a bigot who sees people of color only as votes, not as human beings worthy of a better future,” he added. “She’s going to do nothing for African Americans. She’s going to do nothing for the Hispanics. She’s only going to take care of herself, her consultants, her donors.”
When asked if he believed Clinton personally hated black people, Trump claimed: “Her policies are bigoted because she knows they’re not going to work.”
This is the first time he has used the word to reference Clinton herself.
Mrs Clinton fired back, saying “he is taking a hate movement mainstream. He’s brought it into his campaign.”
“Someone who’s questioned the citizenship of the first African-American president, who has courted the white supremacists … is someone who is very much peddling bigotry and prejudice and paranoia,” she added.
Trump invited one of its main architects, Britain’s outgoing UKIP leader Nigel Farage, onstage. Nigel told Trump supporters to “get your walking boots on” and begin campaigning.
