Dr. Syed Asif Omeri, Founder Secretary of Jamia Mansoora, Moghalpura has requested the Muslim Ulema and Qazis not to perform marriages of the girls if their father is not agreeable to the marriage. There is a saying of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) that without parent no Nikkah will be valid. Prophet also said that if a girl marries without the consent of her father, it will be treated as null and void. Muslim Ulema should not attend such marriages in which Islamic Shariyath and Sunnah of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) is violated. These days it has become common to take dowry money from the parents of the bride, arranging bands and Music, dancing of men and women, crackers, intermixing of men and women, all these are the acts with which Allah (SWT) and Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) would be displeased. Rich men spend lakhs of rupees to satisfy their ego. They also pay the huge bills of function halls. All these are violations of Islamic Shariah. On valima day more dishes should not served. The amount of “Meher” should be paid on the spot. Marriage function should be arranged in mosque. Only one dish and one sweet dish should be served in all such functions.
