Dokka says Congress gaining support in AP

Former minister Dokka Manikya Varaprasada Rao today lashed out some party leaders for defying the Congress and resorting to enact political dramas in the guise of Samaikyandhra.
Talking to mediapersons at APCC office Indira Bhavan here on Friday, Dokka alleged that former chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was trying to target the Congress for political mileage. Kiran would not gain in politics despite his rhetoric in the Seemandrha region through his “Jai Samaikyandhra Party”. He ridiculed that there are no takers for Kiran Kumar Reddy’s JSP as many of his close associates and leaders deserted him. Since most of them were joining other parties like Telugu Desam or YSRCP in Seemandhra region and TRS in Telangana region, Kiran will remain alone in his so-called party, he alleged.
The former minister alleged that the upper class politicians were suppressing the poor and weaker sections and preventing them from coming into active politics. Stressing the need to encourage SC, ST, BC people in the elections, Dokka said representation of such people is a must in the legislatures for welfare of people and development of the State.
“Though, I have gone through “ISM” book of Pawan Kalyan to some extent, I failed to understand what actor and Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan’s intentions”. The book lacks clarity and vision on what the actor wants to tell and do, he added. On one hand, Pawan wants to fight corruption and on the other he is unwilling to contest in0 the elections, he wondered. He found fault with Pawan Kalyan for targeting the Congress and supporting the BJP and TDP.
The seven-day Congress campaigning in Andhra Pradesh helped the party in the run-up to the elections. He said the Congress position was improving gradually as the campaign evoked good response from the people. Congress Election Committee Chairman and Union Minister K. Chiranjeevi and APCC Chief N Raghuveera Reddy toured 13 districts along with local leaders to motivate the party activists for the general elections. (NSS)
