Former minister D Manikya Varaprasada Rao today hailed the move of the TRS Government with regard to allocation of three acres of land to Dalits in Telangana State.
Talking to mediapersons at Congress Legislature Party office here on Thursday, Dokka said he appreciated Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao for keeping his promise. “Anyone will appreciate KCR in this regard as it can be emulated by his AP counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu. I will tour along with KCR to distribute land to the SCs in Telangana and suggest Naidu to follow suit”, he said, adding that giving land to the SCs, STs and needy will prove handy.
However, Dokka criticized KCR for fixing 1956 as cut-off year for nativity to pay fees to the students of Telangana. He wondered why KCR and Naidu cannot resolve the issue by a discussion. How the two governments can resort to dillydallying on nativity issue, when the students are caught in confusion and their parents are panicky on nativity and EAMCET, he asked. He suggested to both the governments to share the fees and resolve the issue amicably by keeping the students’ future in view. (NSS)
