Ajmer,September 26 :Life of an ordinary citizen specially the poorer sections of the society is becoming very difficulty the latest example is the dog entering the labour room and eating the new born kid.At a time when the government has just launched a special scheme for expectant mothers and newborns in the state, a street dog managed to enter the labour room of the government hospital at Kishangarh town and took away a newborn on Saturday. The body of the infant was later recovered by the hospital staff and relatives.
The incident created a rage in the town with the shops downing shutters demanding the removal of the principal medical officer Saroj Vijyavargiya. The angry mob blocked the main road and broke window panes of the hospital. Chief medical and health officer Laxman Harchandani and other officials rushed to the spot.
According to hospital staff, one Reshma of Sumerpur colony of Kishangarh was admitted to the hospital with labour pains. “She was taken to the labour room where she delivered a female baby,” said a hospital staffer. “The mother was healthy and relatives who were waiting outside had started celebrations on the first birth in the house. They rushed out to bring sweets for the staff and wanted to see the baby,” said Manju, a nurse.
