Meerut, January 22: The naked body of Dr Akshay Rajvanshi was found inside his nursing home on Friday night with a wire coiled round his neck, police said.
The murder took place in Nauchandi locality near Nandan cinema, where Dr Rajvanshi and his wife Sujata run their clinic-cum-nursing home.
The clinic was on the ground floor and the nursing home was on the first floor.
On Friday evening, the doctor closed his clinic and went upstairs to his nursing home.
Several minutes later, when a nurse Asha went to his room, his found his body lying nude, with a bottle of liquor, cigarettes and peanuts near the body.
The doctor’s gold chain, bracelet and ring were missing.
Police said it appeared the doctor had been strangulated with a wire. Police is also probing motives relating to an illicit relationship, says DIG Prem Prakash.
The doctor’s family says, he had no enmity with anybody.
