A medical officer of a government-run hospital in Durg district of Chhattisgarh was on Saturday suspended for allegedly raping a student, senior government officials said.
“The state government has suspended Gautam Pandit, the medical officer of Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Hospital in Supela, for allegedly raping a patient on June 19 last year. A suspension order was issued this evening,” the officials said.
The action was taken against Pandit as the rape case is under investigation of the state police, the officials said.
