Jeddah, November 19: A Saudi man attacked an Egyptian doctor, slapping her, spitting on her and stripping off her head cover because of an argument over an injection.
The patient had an argument with a male nurse over the injection, prompting the doctor to intervene and ask a female nurse to give him the injection.
“He refused and started to swear at me…he then hit me on the face, spat on me and took off my head cover,” she said, quoted by Sabq newspaper.
“This caused my blood pressure to increase sharply and I had to be rushed to the intensive care unit, where I stayed for two days.”
The unnamed doctor at a public hospital in the southern town of Abha said she had rejected mediation and insisted on the punishment of the man, who has been arrested by the police.
