Do you want reservations in hanging also?: Venkaiah Naidu

New Delhi: Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. M. Venkaiah Naidu condemned those who view terrorist activities from religious point of view. He asked whether you want reservations in the case of hangings also. He was addressing a function in New Delhi organized by Bharatiya Janata Yova Morcha. He pointed out that when former President, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was being buried, a section of media was applauding Yakub Memon and was releasing his deeds. The news items included what he was eating and wearing. How can they have sympathy for such a person? Mr. Naidu further told that all the countrymen should be united for the fight against terrorism. He also told that terrorist has religion. He rejected the contention that only persons belonging to a specific community has been awarded death sentence. The actual figures falsify this fake claim. During the past few years, 36 persons were hanged. They include Maqbool Butt, Afzal Guru, Ajmal Kasab and Yakub Memon. The remaining persons belonged to other community which Mr. Naidu refused to name. It is understood that Mr. Naidu was trying to prove that more Hindus were hanged to death. Stressing on his point of view, Mr. Naidu remarked that the incidents of terrorism should not be viewed from religious point of view of religion.  He asked people, “Do you want reservations in the case of hanging also?”.
