Do not treat suicides as sign of weakness: Yashki to Centre

Nizamabad MP Madhu Yashki Goud on Monday stated that the Centre and State Governments should not consider the suicide of Telangana people as a sign of weakness.

Talking to media persons after stalling the proceedings in the Parliament pressing for a discussion on the Telangana issue, Madhu Yashki said that the government should not test the patience of Telangana people and announce a favourable decision on the bifurcation of statehood issue soon.

Condemning the suicide of MBA student Bojya Naik in Warangal district, he called upon students not to resort to such extreme steps towards achieving their goal. “The government should not treat the sacrifices of students for the cause of Telangana State as a sign of weakness or inefficiency,” he said.

The Congress MP warned the government of serious consequences if it delays the issue further. He called upon all Telangana leaders to come on a common platform and launch a united struggle to achieve statehood for the region. “The time has come to launch a relentless fight for the Telangana State by rising above politics and parties,” he said.
