Mumbai, June 23: As one can see from the promos of ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI, despite the presence of pretty girls like Kangna Ranaut and Prachi Desai as the leading ladies, the film isn’t loosing its focus by diverting its attention towards the love story angle.
Based on warring gang lords, the film has stayed in the right direction and isn’t allowing any distractions in its way.
Still, Emraan’s pairing with Prachi means that it would pretty much amount to two entirely different personalities coming together.
While he is known for playing intense characters, Prachi is looked at as a simple girl next door with simpler demands. Isn’t that quite some contrasting portrayal on screen?
“I think the very fact that we are playing two contrasting personalities is something that helps the film”, comes an expected comment from Emraan, “See, Shoiab – the character that I play in the film – is someone who is extremely bad and volatile.
He is so impulsive and doesn’t know what he would be doing the very next moment. However, in our story we wish to bring the humane side of the characters.
We wanted to tell people that criminals have an emotional aspect to their lives as well. This is where Prachi comes in because it brings in the balancing factor. She shows the vulnerability that this character possesses.”
And do the two kiss? “Well, for that you have to wait for the film to release”, winks Emraan. Now that’s quite a clich response, one complains.
“Well, for a cliched question, I can only give a clichd answer, isn’t it”, smiles Emraan as he brings on a full stop to the conversation before it is taken any further.
Well, seems one would have to wait for the film to get a definitive answer to the question!
