DMK Chief Karunanidhi is suffering a ‘slight decline in health’: Reports

Tamil Nadu: M. Karunanidhi president of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is reported to be suffering “a slight decline” in his health due to his age-related ailments the Kauvery Hospital’s official statement says.

DMK president is currently undergoing treatment in Chennai’s Kauvery hospital said in a statement on July 26, the Hindu reported.

“He is currently being treated for fever due to urinary tract infection with intravenous antibiotics and fluids,” the hospital said. He is being “monitored and treated round the clock… at his home,” hospital’s statement dated July 26 says.

The statement further added that looking at his condition the doctors team has advised restriction of visitors.

Mr. Karunanidhi’s son and DMK current working president M.K. Stalin speaking about his father’s health condition on July 25 had said: “they are only rumours and not any shocking news. Do not believe in them as they are rumours. He is taking rest after changing the tracheostomy tube last week. He had fever after being discharged from the hospital and doctors are treating him”.
