Health Minister Dr D L Ravindra Reddy has demanded that the State government allow a discussion in the Legislative Assembly on land allotments since 1995. He also demanded that the State government order a comprehensive inquiry into the liquor shops and ration cards in Chittoor and Kadapa districts.
Speaking to the media here on Monday, Dr D L said that he was not capable of ensuring victory of the party candidates in the forthcoming bye-elections as he had lost deposit in the Kadapa bye-election. He felt that the party’s winning chances were remote and it will be no wonder if the party trails at third place in the Rayalaseema region in the forthcoming bye-elections.
Making it clear that he was moving with the resignation letter in his pocket, Dr DL said that he would submit it on advice of the party high command. The party’s fortunes will be similar to Tamil Nadu if Kiran Kumar Reddy continued as the Chief Minister of the State. He also said that there were no chances of arrest of YSR Congress chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in connection with his disproportionate assets case.
DL said that according to surveys, the people were in a feeling that they wanted to give a chance to Jagan to rule the State. Politically, Jagan has no advisor and it was the only problem to Jagan, he added. He also made it clear that he would not take any responsibility in the forthcoming bye-elections from his home district Kadapa. He advised the party leaders to try sincerely for win in the bye-elections. (NSS)
