Health and Family Welfare Minister D L Ravindra Reddy on Monday condemned media reports the quoted him as saying that the Congress party would not win a single seat in the ensuing by-elections to be held in 18 Assembly constituencies.
Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party Office, Ravindra Reddy said that there was no truth in the reports and alleged that media has misquoted my statement. He expressed confidence that the Congress party would win all 18 Assembly segments in the next by-elections. If the government and party sincerely work for the welfare of people, he said that they would vote for Congress in the by-elections.
Admitting that some minor differences exist between the party leaders over policy matters, he however, said the party would overcome those differences and all leaders would for the campaign unitedly. He also condemned media reports that the State might witness Tamil Nadu like situation if the high command continues N Kiran Kumar Reddy as the Chief Minister till 2014.
Ravindra Reddy also condemned a report which quoted him as saying that the Congress would be in the third position in Rayalaseema region.
The minister demanded that the government take up discussion on allotment of lands since 1995-2012 in the Assembly as several irregularities have came to light.
Responding to the possible arrest of YSR Congress president Jagan Mohan Reddy, he said that the law would take its course. The CBI will act against Jagan and follow the directions of court issued on the lines of DMK MP Kanimozhi, who was accused in 2G Spectrum case. (INN)
