DK Aruna seeks clarity on DSC; says thousands of teacher posts vacant

Former minister DK Aruna today demanded that the State Government disclose as to when it will conduct District Selection Committee for recruiting teachers.

During question hour, the Congress MLA from Gadwal took a dig at the government for failing to strengthen the school education and provision of basic facilities. “There are thousands of teacher posts lying vacant and trainees are in doldrums about their jobs. The government should give clarity on this issue”, she demanded. She alleged so far, some 23,000 classrooms of various schools have disappeared due to negligent attitude of the government. The entire school system has turned into a dilapidated situation and there are no steps from government side, she alleged. Stating that KG-to-PG scheme was not proving handy, she further sought to know as to what steps are being taken by the government to strengthen the education sector.

Another Congress leader T Jeevan Reddy also accused the TRS government of neglecting the school education in the State. Despite Supreme Court passing strictures, the government failed to mend its ways, he charged. However, Education Minister K Srihari rebutted the charge and attributed the collapse of education system to the inefficiency of previous Congress regime. “The previous Congress government destroyed Education system and we are making repairs to strengthen it. Efforts are on to provide unsurpassed standards at government schools”, he said, adding that the government was ready for a debate on the issue. (NSS)
