Tennis star Novak Djokovic has reportedly admitted that losing the Australian Open crown in January this year was not what he expected but he also insisted that he has the ”tools” to turn things around.
Djokovic, currently ranked world No. 2, failed to win a fourth straight Australian Open title this season. According to Sport24, Djokovic said that winning the same tournament title for three consecutive years significantly affected the confidence level in the start of the season and the tournaments that followed but this year it is not the case.
However, Djokovic, who will launch his campaign at the Indian Wells ATP Masters this weekend against Romanian Victor Hanescu, said that he still has a lot of confidence because he is playing well and when someone works hard and trusts his instincts the results do come. Djokovic, who has played just two tournaments this season, lost to eventual champion Stanislas Wawrinka in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open and to old competitor Roger Federer in the semi-finals at Dubai, the report added.
Djokovic”s last time when he made it into March without reaching an ATP final was in 2006 and now he is looking for this season”s first title win since teaming up with German Boris Becker as his coach, the report mentioned. (ANI)
