Diwakar adds fuel to TRS crisis

Hyderabadf, June 18: Former Minister J. C. Diwakar Reddy literally added fuel to the ongoing crisis in the Telangana Rashtra Samiti by stating that as a Minister in the previous regime, he had insisted that the government should resume the land allotted to the party office if there was trouble.

In an informal chat with reporters here on Wednesday, Mr. Diwakar Reddy pooh-poohed the conspiracy theory about Congress leaders planning to harm Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

Disgruntled forces

He referred to the controversial observation made by the one-time close confidante of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti chief, former Minister A. Chandrasekhar.

“The serious allegation made by Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao sums up the feeling of the disgruntled forces in the Telangana Rashtra Samiti,” he observed.

Clause in GO

Mr. Diwakar Reddy recalled that at a Cabinet meeting he had insisted that a clause be incorporated in the Government Order wherein the land allotted to the Telangana Rashtra Samiti for construction of its office building could be resumed by the State government.

“I think the ongoing feud in the Telangana Rashtra Samiti will automatically result in the building being surrendered to the State government. There will be no need for the State government to step in to resume the land,” he pointed out.

Senior Congress MLA E. Pratap Reddy, who was also present, said the ownership issue of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti building would land in court as a section of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti leaders had questioned the leadership of Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao.
