Division of High Court in doldrums due to cold treatment of A.P. Govt.

Seven months have elapsed after the bifurcation of A.P. State but due to the cold treatment of the Govt. of A.P. the High Court is not getting divided. Govt. of Telangana has been representing to the Central Govt. for the division of High Court but Center has not responded so far. Govt. of Telangana is ready to allot a separate building for A.P. High Court. During the recent days, Mr. KCR visited various buildings in Hyderabad for locating A.P. High Court. It is reported that Central Govt. agreed to release the funds agreeing to the bifurcation of the High Court. It is understood that the Advocates belonging to Telangana are continuing their protest. It is likely that they may intensify this agitation. TRS MP, Mr. Vinod Kumar had written a letter to the Central Govt. for the bifurcation of A.P. High Court. Central Govt. sent the reply to him stating that it is awaiting the opinion of A.P. Govt. In the present situation, it is expected that 30 judges would be allotted to A.P. and 19 judges to Telangana.

Central Law Minister, Mr. Sadananda Gowda, in his letter addressed to Mr. Vinod Kumar said that he had consulted the Chief Justice of Supreme Court. The opinions of the Chief Justices of both the High Courts have also been sought. CM of Telangana State visited Erram Manzil and King Koti to explore the possibilities of allotting these places for A.P. High Court. Central Govt. had decided to form separate High Court for Telangana State by January 2015 but it could not be done so due to the non-cooperation of the Govt. of A.P.
