Raipur, August 18: In a bid to curb ragging in colleges and universities, the Chhattisgarh government has decided to form committees, headed by district magistrates, in each district of the state, official sources said today.
Directives have been passed in this regard by the Higher Education department, they said.
According to the sources, secretaries of all varsities along with district collectors have been asked to form a monitoring cell at the University level, apart from an anti-ragging committee, headed by the district magistrate.
Besides, the department has directed all the colleges and universities in the state to form anti-ragging committees, anti-ragging squads, and anti-ragging cells in their individual capacities, they said.
