Distribute Bathukamma saris from Dec 19: CS

Hyderabad: “Take up distribution of Bathukamma sarees across 31 districts from December 19”, Chief Secretary SK Joshi today directed the officials.

At a review meeting at Secretariat here, Joshi instructed that the officials should coordinate for smooth distribution of the saris to mark the Bathukamma, the State festival. In addition to Bathukamma event, Joshi reviewed on schemes like Asara pensions, Kalyana Lakshmi, Shadi Mubarak, junior village secretaries appointment, panchayat elections arrangements, land acquisition for national highways, Christmas gift packs distribution and others with the Collectors during a video conference.

As part of government decision to give pension to 57 years old take voters list information and forward details in three days. The CS instructed the officials to implement a plan by involving local leaders for daily distribution of the saris in five to six days and ensure that godowns with person-incharges are ready to distribute the saris in the villages.

Industries secretary Jayesh Ranjan said the women groups, officials have to hold review on ward committees in villages for smooth distribution of the Bathukamma saris. Handlooms Secretary Shailaja Ramaiyyer said 90 lakh saris are sent and have to be distributed among the beneficiaries in a hassle-free manner.

Joshi asked the officials to clear 1000 applications of marriage scheme pending for 60 days in villages. BC Welfare secretary B Venkatesam said to issue an order giving power to MLAs concerned to finalise Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak and sought details of the beneficiaries in districts in three days. Joshi asked for data of the eligible pensioners to be finalsed by collectors based on land data and will be given followed by an approval from Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao next financial year.

The Collectors were asked to take steps for appointment of 9355 village secretaries district wise by December 25 with data in local newspapers. Collectors were asked to take steps for sending village secretaries and officials to a conclave meeting to be addressed by KCR on December 27. Guidelines will be sent for BC voter list by December 31 and training on BC reservations to RDOs and MPDOs has to be completed in three days.
