DISTORTION OF HISTORY

Question time now: Why were we taught history (correct or distorted) of Akbar or Rana Pratap or that Mountain rat? When our own Hyderabad History was concealed / Hidden / distorted? Why were we NOT taught our own history in on
schools at all .. ?
What kind of conspiracy was this and by who?

Fareed Adaab,

The Dynasty was still ruling and ended very abruptly.

HISTORY is always recorded after an event.

We have fortunately a fairly good record of the previous dynasties which ruled over what is now Hyderabad..specially the Qutub Shahi Dynasty which founded our great city.Professor Saheb Janab Haroon Khan Sherwani has published many articles and books on the glory of that Dynasty and has also written considerably on the Asaf Jahis whom he served.

Unfortunately for Hyderabad it all happened so suddenly and the aftermath of the Indian Invasion and coming to power of an entirely different type of government left little time for any recollections.

The elite ,the educated, and those who could afford left Hyderabad for better prospects they found in other countries like Europe and the Americas. Those who could not go directly made Pakistan into a stepping stone and left Hyderabad for good.BUT they took their memories with them. That is the reason why we see so many cultural organizations all over the world talking about Hyderabad, organizing functions and celebrating Hyderabad. The functions in Chicago,Toronto,Washington,Texas, the Persian gulf etc bear witness that we have more true blue Hyderabadis out there. They took their culture with them and now enjoying the fruits of their labour in fully developed countries..WHO was left behind to write the HISTORY of the richest ,biggest and most composite State of undivided India.Today you walk on any Hyderabadi street and mentally mark a group of 10 people. How many would have anything to do with Hyderabad?

It is in such a scenario that unscrupulous writers stepped in to make a killing..AND they did succeed to an extent as they went unchallenged for a long time ,distorting history, minting money and shamelessly calling themselves authors, Professors historians, authorities etc.90% of them had access to government papers and archives because of their official positions AND I dare say they used it to profit. They added their own agendas to material available and their scant knowledge resulted in blunders.

As they say “no love lost”.They wrote and got published..sold their books and made money.
Fareed Saheb HISTORY OF HYDERABAD is available outside INDIA.You can find it in leading museums, libraries and private collections…I better not start on that otherwise I am afraid I will take a lot of time and space and I know that it will tear apart a lot of RESPECTED members on this and other fora in the world…who have minted money selling Hyderabad abroad…and I will be left alone to defend myself…

Yes the need of the hour is to muster all knowledge(verifiable),collect all documents, photographs, firmans, government papers, court documents,The Hyderabad Government State reports..the list is long and tedious to read… and collate a history which will be reasonably correct. Are we Hyderabadis ready to contribute to this research?

We will need the team to stay in Hyderabad over a considerable period of time establishing themselves in a comfortable place with all modern facilities to research, scan, and print.
Collect materials both from individuals who will demand a big price for their treasure and also liaise with government and quasi government offices.

The waqf board, the Sarf-e-Khas Mubarakh, the various trusts of HEH the Nizam of Hyderabad,The various Palaces and the libraries.

The team headed by and including Shahezadi Ezra Begum Sahiba and credible historians like Dr Mohd Safiullah Saheb.
Other organizations and trusts .They will also have to interview some knowledgeable senior citizens who are still available.

They will have to visit and spend time in libraries and bazaars.
Such a team formed will comprise of dedicated individuals who are well versed in Urdu and Persian in addition to English to accomplish this task.

I liked your question asking us why we were not taught about Hyderabad.
