Distorted, malicious: CM

Hyderabad, November 21: Chief minister K Rosaiah today termed the episode titled ‘Hastagatham’ related to the affairs of the Congress party which was telecast on Sakshi TV owned by the late YSR’s son and Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy as highly distorted, malicious and far from truth. “I appeal to all the right-thinking political leaders to condemn these highly motivated comments with malice,” he said.

In a press release issued late in the evening, Rosaiah strongly condemned the episode telecast on November 19 and 20. It was highly deplorable and reprehensive to comment adversely on her early life, something not done even by her staunchest adversaries, he said.

“All the Congressmen in the country admire her charismatic leadership and stood behind her solidly for strengthening the party which had 125 years of history.

Every member of the Congress is committed to upholding the values of sacrifice and service to society as demonstrated by Sonia Gandhi through her exemplary actions,” he said.

The chief minister further said Sonia Gandhi was elected as Congress president in 1988 when the party was in a declining stage. Since then she was elected four times unopposed. Under her dynamic leadership, the party formed government at the Centre twice – in 2004 and 2009.

She never tried to become the prime minister though she had the opportunity. It was the greatest sacrifice which no other political leader had made in the country. “Every leader in the country, including important leaders of other political parties, admired and appreciated her act of sacrifice,” he noted.
