Hyderabad, June 5: Showing disregard for national anthem is an unforgivable crime but the situation in state legislative assembly became strange on Saturday with the way the national anthem was sung.
At the beginning of the house proceedings as soon as the pro tem speaker JC Divakar Reddy took his seat the assembly staff played the recording of national anthem as per the programme. But while the national anthem was being played the MLAs and ministers were sitting on their seats, assembly staff lowered the voice.
After a while when the voice was raised again, the members were still seated on their chairs on which the recording was stopped.
Secretary of the assembly called pro tem speaker’s attention towards national anthem recording with that again the national anthem echoed in the house and all the members stood in respect but till then the national anthem was at its end.
This way the members didn’t listen to the whole of national anthem. Some members regarding it as contempt of national anthem, showed resentment over assembly staff.
