Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today said the State government will provide housing facility to the land-owners, who gave some parts of land for projects. Harish inspected works of Ranganayak Sagar in Siddipet district here.
Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said the land givers will have the right to fishing in the nearby tanks and lakes. The entire nation has taken by surprise at the speed of the projects being completed and the government’s aim was to complete them on time, he said. The projects will be completed as per schedule despite the Opposition parties creating hurdles, he said.
The aim was to bring under irrigation one crore acres of land in the state by 2020 and efforts are being made in that direction, he said. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has asked the officials to speed up the works to reach the target. All the key projects will be completed on a war-footing to irrigate the larger chunk of the crops in the State, he said. Harish said 80 percent of land procurement was completed for projects like Ananthagiri, Mallannasagar, Kondapochamma Sagar, Gauravelli and Gandipally. Those displaced under these projects will get housing facility at their choice from the government, he added. (NSS)
