Hyderabad: Chilkur Balaji temple priest C.S. Rangarajan said those who treat women as an object of entertainment must be branded ‘Rapasura’ and hacked or hanged. He said that the most softhearted people are also sharing his opinion.
We appreciate the police for nabbing the culprits within 24 hours but the SHOs should behave more responsibly.
Now the baton is with the judiciary
Even after seven years the guilty in the nirbhaya case are being fed tasty food without hanging them. The Higher judiciary should not have the discretion of commuting the death sentence especially in rape cases.
The accused should be castrated and the society is very angry at the blind judiciary. Maximum 6 months for execution and the Courts should fall in place.
He was in Disha’s house on Wednesday to console the parents of the veterinary doctor who was raped and and burnt by 4 rapists last week.
The temple had suspended darshanam and pradakshinam on Saturday last week marking the society’s resentment against rapes. He said he had no words to console the family. The society is grieving along with them.
Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, he said that the girl was “mauled and killed in the hands of 4 demons”. “We need a society where every citizen takes up the role of Jatayu in the Ramayana, who put up a valiant fight against Ravana to save Sita maata. We have several legislations for the safety of women but they alone cannot come to the rescue of women from perverts. We need to counsel our youth to be saviours and not demons,” he said.
The Chilkur Balaji temple has been organising programmes like Kanya Vandanam in which young girls’ feet were smeared with turmeric in reverence and Raksha Bandhan to create a sense of sisterly feeling among the boys, he said.
