Bank union slams Amitabh for ad with daughter calls it disgusting

NEW DELHI: A jewellery advertisement featuring Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan with daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda invites wrath from a bank union.

The bank union termed the much-awaited one-and-a-half minute long TV ad for a Kerala-based jewellery chain came “disgusting” for negative portrayal of bank employees.

All India Bank Officers’ Confederation, even threatened to sue Kalyan Jewellers accusing it of “casting aspersion and hurting the sentiments of millions of personnel” through the advertisement, reported a leading news agency.

Yesterday, Bachchan had tweeted the video of the ad. While posting the ad, he wrote, “Emotional moment for me .. tears welling up every time I see it .. daughters are the BEST !!”

The actor faces condemnation from online users as soon as he post the video. Here are some tweets:

One user wrote, “shame on You for portraying bad image of bankers.. in the Ad… You have completely sold ur soul to corporates of india ignoring the sentiments of Bankers.”

Another user disparagingly wrote, “He has already sold his soul.”
